mobility transition pathway
The EU mobility transition pathway is an actionable plan co-created by the Commission with national and regional authorities, industry stakeholders, NGOs and other interested parties. It identifies, based on a bottom-up approach, the challenges, opportunities, conditions and actions needed by all parties to lead the green and digital transition and improve the ecosystem’s resilience, in line with the updated EU industrial strategy.
What does that mean and why do we care?
Cycling is now elevated as a key part in the industrial transformation of Europe. The Commission has asked for pledges from automotive, water transport, rail and cycling industries on how they will make the mobility value chain more resilient, innovative, sustainable and digital.
The MTP document calls out actions that the cycling industry needs to address. The Summit Series is an opportunity for companies to participate in the pledging process and address areas 10.1 and 11.2 of the document calling for a safer, more attractive sector as well as the development of targeted campaigns for women and youth.
